Munee is a tool developers will absolutely love. Munee works by taking an app's resources and automatically optimizing them for client-side usage.
This means:
- CoffeeScript files are compiled to JavaScript
- LESS files are compiled to CSS
- SASS/SCSS files are compiled to CSS
- Merges and minifies CSS files
- Merges and minifies JS files
- resizes large images
- caches resources on both the server and client side
- minifies and GZIPs all server responses
These operations can be performed individually or on a selective basis, helping developers improve their application's performance in the area it slugs behind.
This is done by sniffing out and filtering resources before being cached or sent out to the client, optimizing them based on the config, and then returning the asset to its natural flow in the application.
As you can imagine this can be a really helpful tool for medium to large PHP applications, helping them get an extra boost in speed and also cut down usage for various server resources.
