1) What is WordSecretary?
WordSecretary is an electronic dictionary application.
The program was developed for two target groups: The professional writer (authors, journalists, blogger etc.), who often needs synonyms and the normal user, who needs a spell aid, that doesn't require accurate typing.
WordSecretary contains the following functions:
Fault-tolerant user interface
The user doesn't have to know the correct spelling of a word to find it.
Spelling mistakes are ignored. In most cases it is sufficient to type the word like it is spoken. For example the search for "fylosofi" is instantly directing to the correct spelling "philosophy".
Comprehensive result list
WordSecretary lists the part of speech, the base form, pontential contexts, synonyms, possible continuations and similar sounding vocables for a found word.
When a word isn't found, it displays suggestions for the right spelling and possible continuations of a word fragment.
Online search
With just one mouse click WordSecretary does research in several online services and search engines.
Voluminous sources
WordSecretary has a build in database with 160.000 words (German version: 150.000 words). If an internet connection is available WordSecretary utilizes the WordNet online service in addition.

5) Search for words
When you startup WordSecretary for the first time, you are asked for a license code:
The button "Try for free!" allows you to test WordSecretary without purchasing a license code. The button "Buy license..." opens the online store in your browser, where you can buy a license.
After providing a valid license code or using the "Try for free!" option, the WordSecretary main window opens in the right top corner of your screen:
Now you can type your search word. WordSecretary starts a background search operation, already when you type. As soon as a result is available, it is displayed in the bottom part of the main window.
If the typed word was found, the color of the search word changes to green. Red means that the word wasn't found in any database. In this case your spelling may not be correct.

6) The result list
When you have a result list in front of you, you can trigger the following mouse actions:
Copy a word to the clipboard - Single click with left mouse button
Do a single left mouse button click on any word in the result list. The word is now displayed with a colored background and it is automatically copied to the system clipboard, so that you can paste it in other applications (Trigger the command "Paste" in the Edit menu or do the keyboard shortcut STRG-V to paste the word in other applications).
When you hold the Shift-key during the mouse click the word will be appended to the actual clipboard content. This makes it possible to copy and paste multiple words at once.
The context menu - Single click with right mouse button
Do a single right mouse button click on any word in the result list or on your typed word in the search box to open the context menu.
Now you can search your word in several online services. The search engine Google searches for common definitions of the word. WordNet Online contains example sentences in addition to the results which are displayed in WordSecretary. (Note: In "WordSecretary Deutsch" you find the dictionary of the University of Leipzig at this place.) Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, Wiktionary another dictionary and Wikiquote a compendium of quotations.

The command "Append word" appends the word to the actual clipboard content. With this function you can copy and paste multiple words at once.
The command "Open new window" opens a new window with the contents of the result list. The text in this window is editable, so you can make your own changes and notes, before you copy it to other applications. You can open up to 10 text windows to compare or collect different search results. If you don't need the text window anymore, you can close it by triggering the close button on the right top corner of the window or by pressing the keyboard shortcut STRG-W.
