![]() Troi Text Plug-in 3.0.1Troi Text Plug-in is copyright 1998-2006
of Troi Automatisering. All rights reserved (October 12th, 2006). NOTE Version 3.0 uses the plug-in API introduced with FileMaker Pro 7, which is using the FunctionName(parameter1 ; parameter2) format. This means that Unicode is supported and more. NOTE 2 With the the release of the update of FileMaker Pro 8.0v2 the original syntax of the SumText calculation is now again working properly. As the original syntax is more general we strongly recommend to use this syntax. Please read the SumText section of the FileMaker 8 Conversion Note, which explains this in detail. See our web site for Text Plug-in 2.1.6 which is using the 'classic' plug-in API which is using the External( "functionName" , "parameter") format. The 2.1.6 version also runs on FileMaker 6 and 5.x. This cross-platform plug-in is compatible with FileMaker Pro 7 and FileMaker 8 and enhances their functions. Finally you can do things you thought were still impossible to do with FileMaker Pro. Now you can create powerful databases by using this plug-in! Recommended readingPlease read the FileMaker 8 Conversion Note, which explains how to convert from FileMaker Pro 6 and 7 databases. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSINSTALLING A (TROI) PLUG-IN FOR THE FIRST TIME.
You may want to install other plug-ins before proceeding.
Then (re)start FileMaker Pro. Troi Text Plug-in will display
a dialog box, indicating that it is loading and showing the
registration status. You can now open the file "All Text
Examples.fp7 " to see how to use the plug-in's functions What Troi Text Plug-in can do for youTroi Text Plug-in is a very powerful tool for dealing
efficiently with text in your FileMaker Pro database. It
will let you create a dynamic field that concatenates all
text from a field in a related file, find all lines that
are the same in 2 text fields or all lines that are
different in 2 text fields. Additional functions let you
find all lines that are in the first text field but not in
the second, all unique lines of a text field or all unique
words of a text field. Other manipulations include finding
all lines in a text field sorted alphabetically, getting the
n-th line of a text field and easily parsing out your
incoming XML data files into FileMaker fields. Who wrote it?Troi Text Plug-in was designed and implemented by Peter Baanen of Troi Automatisering.
