Adding RiffTrax files
You add your RiffTrax files by clicking the "Add Riff" button

in the lower-left of the window, or by simply dragging the files onto the left side of the window

. RiffTrax files you add will be copied to a library storage location that RiffSync maintains. We recommend you keep a backup copy of your RiffTrax files somewhere else as well.
Getting Info for your RiffTrax
RiffSync keeps a variety of information for each RiffTrax file you own. This includes a movie name, description, chapter names, Disembaudio points, and most importantly, the sync information required to play it back correctly with the intended movie.
RiffSync tries to make it easy to start watching a RiffTrax right away without having to enter any of this information. In most cases, this means you can skip the "get ready to pause" instructions that came with your RiffTrax. This feature works by first checking our servers for the info for your particular RiffTrax file. If the server doesn't have the info, then RiffSync tries to fill in the info using the ReadMe file included with your RiffTrax file*. As a last resort, RiffSync will guide you through syncing it manually when you start riffing, and you can optionally fill in the title, description, and other info manually.
You can change the info for a RiffTrax anytime by selecting a RiffTrax in your library

and clicking the
Edit Riff Info button

. Note that the info that is automatically downloaded is user-contributed to our servers. If you own a RiffTrax that we don't have info about, RiffSync will offer an option to send the info to our server for others to use. Don't worry - this only shares info about the RiffTrax, not the audio file itself.
* Note: When you purchase a RiffTrax file, a ReadMe file with information on the chapters and Disembaudio points is included with your purchase. If our server does not have information for your RiffTrax file, RiffSync will look for this ReadMe in the same directory as the audio file you are adding to your RiffSync library.
