System Requirements |
Might as well get this out of the way up-front. Nakishi should run on PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later.
Nakishi Usage |
Frankly, I think it's fairly straightforward but - y'know - I wrote it so I might be a bit too close to it.
Open an image
Define the output size
Define the crop region
Save the cropped image Nakishi records the last several images you have had open and can reopen the most recent automatically at launch. If you're running on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or later, you have the option of immediately setting the new image as the desktop picture for the display you've selected in the window.
Nakishi is able to read a large number of image files. Open one by dropping it on the application icon or window, using the Open Image… command in the File menu or choosing from the Open Recent submenu. You can use ⌘-R to rotate the image 90 degrees at a time.
Specify how large you need the output image to be for your screen. Nakishi will make sure your selection maintains the proper aspect ratio. For your convenience, a popup menu is provided that holds the sizes appropriate for the iPhone or iPod Touch, iPad and all displays currently connected to your machine.
Nakishi shows you the portion of the image that will be saved by drawing the rest of the picture in a dimmed state. You can move the selection around by clicking within it and dragging, and you can resize from any of the 4 corners.
Once you've got the desired portion of the image selected, use the Save… button or Save Cropped Image… menu command to save your new image. You can save the image either as a JPEG or PNG file.
