FileGoBack Version 1.1.1 (2012-07-26)
- When user chooses to restore a file from a Time Machine™ backup, the Save dialog now reliably opens to the same folder where the existing file is.
- Now signed with our Developer ID, so that new users can launch it in Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
- Fixed a bug which could (but probably never did) cause a crash if an error, such as the Time Machine™ backup disk being unavailable, occurred.
- When an error such as the Time Machine™ backup disk being unavailable, occurs, the empty GoBack window now goes away automatically after the user is alerted.
- Fixed a bug which causes FileGoBack to not find any old versions of any files after user migrates to a new Macintosh user account, keeping the existing FileGoBack preferences, in some weird cases. One such case is if user employs for Time Machine™ backup on the new Mac the same hard disk as was used on the old Mac, but a different partition.
FileGoBack Version 1.1 (2012-03-01)
- Expiration date has been removed; this version will function indefinitely.
- FileGoBack now presents itself as a System Service in the Services menu of applications which can select files, such as Finder and Path Finder.
- The FileGoBack application package now accepts drops of any file(s), causing a new GoBack window to be opened into each file.
- The New GoBack navigation dialog now allows multiple selections, so that users can "go back" with multiple files at once. (Multiple GoBack windows will appear.)
- In case the quick method for listing backups fails, now uses the slower, but supported method. We think that this will allow FileGoBack to work properly when the Time Machine backup is on a network drive (network attached storage, NAS), including Time Capsule.
- Now knows an additional method for restoring files, and uses it in case the regular method fails. This has been found to be effective in copying some application packages that may have restricted permissions.
- Error presentation now uses our more informative and less bold dialog box, with a button to encapsulate additional information in an email message to us, instead of the standard "thunk" provided by Mac OS X.
